I’m thrilled to be taking part in #marchmeetthemaker! (Visit the website here). I shall attempt to follow Joanne Hawker's list and let you know a bit more about myself and my work throughout the whole of March!

Day 1 - YOU

My name’s Jane Foster and I’m an illustrator, textile designer and screen printer. I’ve been fortunate enough to have had around 20 books published over the past five years and have also collaborated on lots of exciting projects. I live with my partner and daughter in Kingsbridge, Devon and work from home in a studio in our garden. I’m also a fan of Breton stripes, have a beret collection and love the colour yellow!

Day 2  - WHERE?

I live in Kingsbridge, Devon in the UK. I live in a quirky 60s house with my partner and daughter. It's a fun home that we're gradually adding our mark to and renovating on a tight budget.

Kingsbridge is a quiet little place with a great community. We're fortunate to live very near to several super beaches so living here has a 'holiday' feel to it, especially in the summer!

It was a challenge for me initially to move to Devon from Brighton as I was used to the hustle and bustle of Brighton with all it's cafes, bars, retro / vintage shops and car boot sales! I was in a band for many years and had a very hectic but enjoyable life. Moving to Devon has given me more 'calm' and and more space and thinking time to focus on my family and career. I've less distractions (in the form of shopping!) and feel the move was a positive one for us, despite it taking time to adjust.
